Now that you are coming to the National, check out the Square Route Rally

If you are coming to the National, do you know about an awesome event hosted every year by the BMW Bikers of Metropolitan Washington, now known as the BMW Motorrad Club Washington DC? It’s the hallmark event of the east coast from June 2-4 - the one and only BMW BMW Square Route Rally!

Featuring legendary rides through the Catoctin Mountains, the Square Route Rally has award-winning food vendors at a modest cost for Friday dinner and weekend breakfasts. Don’t miss the ice cream quality-control run on Friday with former club president Bruce Dimon. After dinner and a visit to the Tiki Bar featuring locally brewed German beer from Black Hoof Brewing, enjoy a photography training session led by Bob’s BMW founder and former club President Bob Henig. His presentation will be followed by special guest Tom Medema of Rally for Rangers and his documentary film about Mongolia, and a camera practicum with club President Juan B. Botero.

On Saturday, those who brought cameras can test their rigs and technique on any of the touring and adventure routes planned for all levels of interest and experience. The rides will be followed by a dinner from the ever-popular Bollinger’s BBQ. To top it off, they will have a tiki bar and a bluegrass concert by Hot Pepper Jam to wrap up the day!! On Sunday, those attending the 50th National Rally in Doswell, Virginia can take several scenic rides to the site from June 4 through 7. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity for 10 days of amazing rides!!

I’ve gotta believe this Club Rally is easily the #1 choice for riders
out touring for the VA 50th.
There are four (4) other choices the weekend before… none better than this IMO.

I’ll be doing a recon in a few days of the MABDR and other gravel roads to set up an off road ride for the Rally. Hoping the creek crossing on Delauter Rd is open so the ADV riders can give their bikes a bath.
