The BMW MOA is excited to team up with West38Moto to provide off-road training classes at the Wander Farther National Rally. Owner Dusty Wessels and his team of talented off-road ride instructors are here to help you develop your basic skills so you can enjoy dirt riding with more confidence. Learn from some of the best in the west.
The activity takes place on the rally grounds and is adapted to your skill level. There are two options for riders – beginner and intermediate training. If you are new to off-road riding and have not taken a formal training class, we recommend the beginner course. If you have been riding off-road and want to increase your skill level with a few advanced techniques, the intermediate class is for you. Either way, the goal of West38Moto is to meet you where you are. These group sizes are small so you will get good individual attention and training.
The morning training session will focus on what you need to know about braking, proper body positioning, balance on the bike, and techniques to build more skill using the clutch, brake, and throttle at slower speeds. You will also practice turning techniques specific to riding in the dirt and different traction environments.
After enjoying a mid-day lunch break, groups can put new skills to practice with newfound confidence on the MOA’s ADV Challenge track. Instructors will guide you through terrain meant to challenge you while keeping you in a safe environment. A short debrief and question period with your instructors will follow at the conclusion of the day.
Training costs are $349 per student with a $49 MOA Foundation rebate mailed to you on completion of the class! A beginner and intermediate session are available each day with a limit of 10 riders per class.
