Coordinating our National Rally each year begins with the site selection committee researching various sites. The real work begins after they select the final site and the Rally Chairs start booking entertainment, suppliers, vendors, and site personnel to make your rally a success.
In the days before the gates open, volunteers are needed to help with sign-making and placement or to provide security in the vendor area before the rally. Others are needed to help set up the registration area and the entertainment stages, monitor member arrivals, assist RVers in setting up their rigs, or offer directions to camping areas. Stuffing mugs with pins and patches also requires many helping hands, as does the Prize Committee. These are just some of the committees that need volunteers.
Once the rally is underway, many hands are still needed. Registration volunteers are needed throughout the rally, as are shuttle volunteers and volunteers to provide rally security and sell 50/50 tickets for the local charity we generously support. Other committees needing your help include Door Prizes, the Sewing Booth, Bike Judging, the Bike Wash and Oil Change Stations and more. Don’t like the heat? Then pull up a chair at Ice Sales and stay cool in the shade. If you have a medical background or first aid experience, consider volunteering at our First Aid Station.
The reasons to volunteer at the Rally are many, and like anything in life, you get out of it what you put into it. The Rally is no different. Friendships and acquaintances developed through the social interaction of volunteering enhance your Rally experience tenfold and increase your ability to plan rides and social experiences with like-minded riders. Many of our Rallygoers are perennial volunteers looking forward to seeing all their friends who share the same passion.
There are more than 1,000 volunteer shifts available across the many volunteer committees at the Rally. Volunteer shifts average two to three hours each, and about 20% of all Rallygoers serve as volunteers, with many volunteering on multiple committees because they've come to appreciate the experience of expanding their social circle of like-minded individuals.

Once there, SignUp Genius offers a detailed description of what each committee’s function is so you can decide which committee you’d prefer to volunteer for. The shifts, shift times, and volunteer slots are also displayed, and you can easily slot your name in for any available shifts. Most of the shifts are filled before the Rally commences so we encourage you to sign up early to be able to enjoy this unique and rewarding experience.

Please Note: Volunteer registration and Rally registration are two different things. You must purchase a Rally registration to gain admittance to the Rally. Volunteer registration is just that—voluntary! To register for the Rally itself, use the main registration page.
